MBABANE – A man is being investigated by police for selling forged tickets to the 24-hour party to be held at Cafe Mogambo tonight.

Police are still looking for others who might be linked to this fraud.

The tickets were being sold mainly in Manzini at the Bhunu Mall and are very similar to the original ones.

The man being investigated was found yesterday at the Bhunu Mall selling to unsuspecting members of the public.

Police Public Relations Officer Superintendent Wendy Hleta confirmed the incident.

She said the man, from Mafutseni, was taken in for questioning.

He is said to have copied one of the pamphlets promoting the event and cut them into the size of the tickets.

He then sold them for E100.

The original tickets retail at E150 for pre-sale while clubbers will part with E200 at the door.

Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane, Director of Swaziboy Entertainment, the hosts of the event, said they were also informed about the selling of the forged tickets and have already reported the matter to the police.

He said those who did not buy their tickets from the publicised selling points should not bother attending the show because they would be turned back.

"We will be on the lookout for the forged tickets and those who have them will not be allowed into the show," he said in an interview.

He listed the places where the tickets are sold as Sharks Cellular (Mbabane) Ezulwini Pharmacy (The Gables), Robs MTN Connect (Matsapha) and MTN Connect Store, (Bhunu Mall).

Zwane warned the public not to buy tickets in the streets.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Hleta sent a strong warning to people who might take a chance and attempt to break into the cars of those attending the event.

"Our officers will be deployed at the place to ensure law and order," she said.
