Ndumiso Mamba makes public appearance with wife

MATSAPHA - Former Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Ndumiso Mamba surprised many yesterday when he made a ‘rare’ public appearance with his wife, Welile.
Mamba resigned both as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and senator mid 2010 due to what the Prime Minister, Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini, described as ‘rumours circulating in the country and internationally’.
After an absence of just over a year from public events, Mamba and his wife made a surprise appearance yesterday at the memorial service of deceased member of the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) Glory Mamba.
The service was held at the Matsapha Evangelical Church.
Mamba and his wife looked relaxed for the entire duration of the service.
In fact, it would not be an over-statement to mention that the two looked very happy together. During the service, they would frequently sing, whisper to each other and hold hands.
Mamba’s wife would sometimes sing aloud to some of the gospel songs which were sang during the service.
Stare
Some mourners could not help but stare continuously at the seemingly loving couple but both Mamba and his wife appeared less interested in the consistent looks.
They were seated in the fifth row from the podium and at one stage; Mamba retrieved his mobile phone from his pocket and showed something in it to his wife.
Moments later, they were both seen laughing, obviously being amused by what they were looking at on the phone.
Mamba was dressed in a long-sleeved black shirt and matching pants while his wife wore a black blazer, with white stripes on the shoulders and chest pockets.
She donned a black headscarf that was nicely decorated with gold trims.
It was later gathered that the late Glory Mamba was related to the former minister, hence the reason they attended the memorial.
After his resignation from politics, Mamba further relinquished his shares at giant construction company, Inyatsi Construction.
He is hardly seen in public, let alone with his wife.
In an almost similar case, former Minister of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Nelisiwe Shongwe was pictured at the memorial service of Dr. Sidney Shongwe with her husband Petros Sho-ngwe.
This came after reports over a month ago that the former minister had moved out of her marital home to live at her brother’s flat in Thembelihle. It was reported that she moved to the flat because she wanted time to pray after she was fired.
