Woman bites, swallows lover's lip during figh

William Msibi, a motor mechanic employed by a trucking business in Matsapha, was left with his teeth in the open after his ‘sweetheart’ of about two years vented her anger on him.

The 32-year-old Nomcebo Simelane proved that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned after she was missed by a full beer bottle thrown at her by the furious Msibi during a fight which took place at about 10pm. The couple resides at the notorious Mbhuleni location.

In an interview at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital where the two lovebirds were treated for serious injuries, Simelane said it all started when they had a squabble with Msibi over previous issues.

"The confrontation started in the presence of my daughter at my rented room. However, we sorted it out and while still unaware and preparing something to eat, I heard a loud sound of a breaking bottle.

"When I looked around, I realised that he had missed me with the full beer bottle.

"We then started fighting and midway through the scuffle, I bit his mouth. I was trying to free myself from him. I could not spit the piece because I was breathing heavily. I swallowed it and it is still in my stomach," she said.

Simelane said their problems started in March when Msibi reported to her that he was having problems with his landlord.

She said the man left his landlord’s room and stayed with her at her flat.

"We continued to pay rent of the house that Msibi was no longer using.

"While we were still staying together, the landlord came, kicked my door open and scolded at me, saying I had taken his lover away. She insulted me and I went to report the matter to community police," she said.

She said all this time, Msibi was denying ever being in love with the landlord.

Simelane said she was also attacked by two men and her lover’s landlord who threatened to stab her after they entered her room without knocking.

In the process of the attack, she claims she lost E210 she had reserved to pay rent.
