Tulujane fired!
MBABANE – Tulujane Sikhondze, one of the most trusted servants of His Majesty King Mswati III, has been fired from the King’s Office.
Sikhondze, according to a well-informed source, has been dismissed together with acting Treasurer Futhi Dlamini.
Sikhondze was responsible for the ploughing and harvesting of the fields belonging to the royal family.
Dlamini, in the absence of suspended substantive Treasurer Cyprian Kunene, has been running the show at the Treasury Office situated at the Nkhanini Office at Lobamba.
"Both Tulujane and Futhi were summoned by the Chief Officer (Bheki Dlamini) who informed them about their dismissal from the King’s Office last Wednesday," said the impeccable informant.
The duo, as per the insider, was relieved of their duties after they were found guilty as charged by a disciplinary committee.
The DC was chaired by Deputy Chief Officer Joseph Sibanyoni.
"They were found guilty of allegedly failing to account for monies amounting to thousands of Emalangeni belonging to the King’s Office," said the royal source. "The pair was told of their sacking on Wednesday and the members of the staff were informed the following day (Thursday)."
Sibanyoni, when approached for comment, referred all enquiries to Chief Officer Bheki Dlamini.
However, Dlamini could not be traced as his cellphone was not available on the MTN network by 5pm.
"Yes, I can only confirm to you that I was the chairman of the DC but that does not accord me powers to talk about the matter you’re asking me about," was all Sibanyoni could say.
Futhi Dlamini, when contacted for comment yesterday, confirmed his sacking as acting Treasurer at the King’s Office.
"Yes, it’s true that I’ve been dismissed and I’m home as I’m talking to you," said Dlamini. "The DC found me guilty as charged and my sacking emanated from an old story regarding money."
