MBABANE – ASD (Pty) Ltd could soon enter into a contract valued at E450 000 with the Municipal Council of Ezulwini for the supply of road repair material.

In tender results published by the Swaziland Public Procurement Regulatory Agency, the municipality’s tender board announced that the company had emerged as the best evaluated tenderer during evaluation.  ASD scored a total of 72 per cent and closely followed by Pinstripe Investment (Pty) Ltd which amassed 60 per cent. The lowest evaluated tenderer was ERG Swaziland which managed to score only 44 per cent.

In line with the Public Procurement Act of 2011, the municiplaity announced that a period of 10 working days would be allowed for the submission of any application for review. “The contract award decision does not constitite a contract,” the municipality clarified.
In its quest to improve the developing town’s road network, the municipality also previously awarded Stefanutti Stocks Construction a contract worth E2.8 million.

The five months contract was for the construction of Mkhaya Road from gravel to bitumen standard.
Stefanutti Stocks outsmarted Heptagon Company and Pots Construction to emerge as the best evaluated tenderer. Heptagon Company had submitted the highest bid price of E3 111 109 million while Pots Construction closely followed the eventual winner with a bid price of E3 029 714.
Roots Civils and Afrotim Construction were rejected from the tendering exercise. It was mentioned that Roots did not make the cut because their submitted plant and equipment did not meet the requirements. Afrotim lost out on the business opportunity because they provided a bid security which was not in accordance with the bid requirements.
