COMPANY REGISTRATION DOWN TO 24HRS
MBABANE – Hardly four days after the PM Ambrose Dlamini-led government launched its strategy roadmap 2019-2022; it has already ticked one of the boxes in terms of reducing the number of days to register a business.
Under the Ministry of Commerce, industry and trade targets were to reduce the business registration period from 30 days to only a single day, which has already been put in place.
The registry of companies has introduced an online registration platform for businesses in Eswatini, and an electronic company verification system for financial institutions, together with a mobile tracking system for businesses.
New businesses can now be registered online and be issued with an acknowledgement of company registration through simply accessing the direct link on https://www. gov.online.sz.
Thereafter, company directors or their preferred representative should then submit documentation and proof of payment to the registry offices for filing to complete the process of registration. These documents include, but not limited to, Form J (document showing directors), Form C (document showing shares allocation in the business) and Memorandum of Articles.
All these documents can be downloaded from the online registration web page.
This effectively means that company registration has been reduced to 24 hours.
In what may seem to be good news to the ears of would be entrepreneurs, the acknowledgment of company registration can also be used to seek credit from all financial institutions.

Further, it should be mentioned that Registrar of Companies Msebe Malinga has disclosed that plans were well underway to allow for payment of registration fees electronically and e-filing of company documents.
