MBABANE – Talking about not putting your eggs in one basket, Inyatsi Construction has disclosed that it will venture into renewable energy.

According to Wikipedia, renewable energy is collected from renewable resources, which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat.

Renewable energy often provides energy in four important areas; electricity generation, air and water heating, transportation and rural energy services.
The company which has been in the construction industry for approximately 37 years will partner with a South African company in its new venture.
In an interview, Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Hamilton said even though the project was still at an infant stage, they were looking at establishing a 10 mega watt plant.

“We are looking at doing solar. The plant is earmarked for Lavumisa,” Hamilton said.
Asked why they chose this specific area, Hamilton said it was because of its geographic location.

Engage

“Besides, there is a lot of land and sun in that area,” the CEO added.
On the project cost, Hamilton said it was still early to talk about figures because they were still to engage their partners.

Hamilton further said they would also be looking at smaller projects by partnering with private companies.
His sentiments were shared by the Inyatsi Construction (Eswatini) Managing Director Derrick Shiba, who said they would be giving figures in the next two weeks.

“This type of project will assist us to alleviate cash flow challenges,” he said.
On another note, the CEO first explained the company’s vision.

“Our vision is to be the preferred construction company, partner and employer. And it’s an achievable vision, but not an easy one,” he said.
He went on to say that they wanted to be known as the African contractor that worked with clients to get solutions.
Hamilton added that they were actively partnering with the Government of Eswatini to achieve Vision 2022 .

Recently, Inyatsi Construction Group Holdings became the first construction company in Africa to obtain SACAS 45001 and 14001 ISO certifications.
The ISO 45001:2018 certificate means Inyatsi has been assessed and found to satisfy the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems certification while the ISO 14001:2015 certificate is for Environmental Management Systems. Both certificates, which were attained after 18 months of evaluation, are in respect of quality and safe civil engineering and concrete construction and associated work standards.

SACAS is an assessment provider for all types of management systems and as well as product, process and service certification provider.
It provides complete, reliable and high-quality auditing and certification services in respect of various standards.

Prioritised

Since being established in 1982 Inyatsi has always prioritised safety. Currently Inyatsi Group Holdings (PTY) LTD has 30 sites running in four different countries.

Its achievements include that in 2014 Inyatsi Group Holdings engaged into the NOSA 5 star integrated management system and achieved a four star rating in 2015 where they as a group maintained the four stars until 2017.

In 2018 Inyatsi Group Holdings changed service providers from NOSA 5 star integrated management system to ISO 14001 and ISO45001 where they were audited and recommended for the certification that has since been presented.

In brief ISO certification certifies that a management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation procedure has all the requirements for standardization and quality assurance. ISO standards are in place to ensure consistency.
Each certification has separate standards and criteria and is classified numerically.
