MBABANE – The University of Eswatini (UNESWA) has presented a business opportunity for the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and office uniform for eligible staff members.

In the Request for Proposals (RFP) it was explained that this would be done for staff members stationed in all the three campuses of the university namely; Kwaluseni, Luyengo and Mbabane. It was mentioned that the supply and delivery of protective clothing and uniforms to the University of Eswatini would be for the financial year 2019-2020.

Demonstration

UNESWA invited locally registered and suitably qualified suppliers which would be interested in the job to demonstrate knowledge and experience to deliver the goods required.
It was stipulated that bidders would be expected to participate in the demonstration of the samples of the listed PPE and Office Uniform to be held at the UNESWA Sports Emporium on October 10, 2019. “Bidders who choose to be absent on the day of the demonstration, will have their bids disqualified forthwith,” reads the RFP in part. It was stated that samples submitted by bidders would be kept at UNESWA and would be used as reference for goods supplied by the prospective supplier(s).

Prospective tenderers were advised to read the tender specification and bring a copy to the demonstration. It was also mentioned that particular attention must be paid to the brands and specifications when making price offers. On certain items, preferred brand names were stated in brackets and it was expected that suppliers would quote on these brands. The university said a copy of the tender document must be hand delivered and submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited into the official tender box located at the entrance of the Bursary office (Kwaluseni campus) not later than October 24, 2019, at 12:00hrs. “The decision of UNESWA on awarding a tender is final,” UNESWA categorically stated. It was further pointed out that UNESWA does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender nor give any reason for the acceptance or rejection of a tender.
