MBABANE – Spoilt for choice. That is the position bidders find themselves in ahead of the US Embassy sealed bids auction. Rexy’s Investments on behalf of the US Embassy is selling by sealed bids exclusive items that include computers, appliances and office furniture.

A sealed-bid auction is a type of auction process in which all bidders simultaneously submit sealed bids to the auctioneer. No bidder knows the amount of bid of the other auction participants. Sealed bids are placed in a sealed envelope. The sealed bid is not opened until the stated date, at which time all bids are opened together. The highest bidder is usually declared the winner of the bidding process.

Items that will go under the hammer include refrigerators, heaters, dryers, dish washers, brush cutters, lawn mowers, gym equipment, computer desks, coffee tables, dining table with eight chairs, queen box spring with mattress and headboard, dining table, book shelves and king size bed, among others.
Registration and acceptance of bids started yesterday. Bidders need to pay a refundable deposit of only E2 000.

Most of the items are of good quality, with some of the appliances just needing minor attention.

Viewing days are today and Thursday between 10:30am and 3:30pm. Reserve prices will be available on viewing days.
