MBABANE - The Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) has joined hands with the Africa Economic Zones Organisation (AEZO).

This is meant to form partnerships that will assist in the implementation of RSTP’s special economic zone programme. A special economic zone (SEZs) is simply defined as an area in which the business and trade laws are different from the rest of the country. Their aims include increasing trade balance, employment, increased investment, job creation and effective administration.

Chief Executive Officer of RSTP Vumile Dlamini said they realised that being part of the AEZO would assist them avoid being among those SEZs that have failed in the world. “Upon being designated a AEZO, our aim has been to try and ensure that the country reaps the fruits of having such a programme in place,” Dlamini said. Dlamini added that having put up the requisite infrastructure which included serviced land and the One-Stop-Shop-Service-Centre which is almost ready for use, RSTP saw the need of knowledge sharing by joining AEZO.
