UMSITI WAMI APP LAUNCHED
MBABANE – Get the latest news and customer services at the tip of your fingers!
The above service is made possible through Umsiti Wami App which successfully provides useful information about the country, mainly through a cellphone. Umsiti Wami App was launched last week by Swazi Appli Lab after putting together the project in the last five years. The 15 MB app is available on Google Playstore, a service that comes pre-installed in many android phones.

In an interview with Swazi Appli Lab Director Emmanuel Nduwa, he said Umsiti Wami was definitely poised to make life easier for people who wanted to get various services including emergency calls, booking a shuttle or hotel, job seekers, COVID-19 statistics and more. Other services include latest news from top media houses including Times of Eswatini, Eswatini Television and others. Also important customer services of different companies in the country were available, while those who wanted to send complaints or comments to their municipal councils could do so. Furthermore, Nduwa noted that fast and accurate research was also available for people’s daily needs of services, including insurance, courier, food delivery, car hiring, computer repair, plumber and taxi. People who required loans, shopping centres and those seeking many other services could access the service on their cellphone.
Directory
The app functions like a local directory and assists emaSwati instantly. He stated that Umsiti Wami was not the first app to be developed by their company, as they had seven others, one of which was for a Canadian bank. Nduwa worked with a team of four people to develop the app, one who is an IT student. Nduwa is an IT engineer and started computer programming during his high school days back in 1991. At that time, he stated that there were few PC’s and no MS Windows. According to Nduwa, he had undergone a vast training in his career in programming maintenance, web design, data management, android development and other IT specialities.
