4 COMPANIES FOR E25M EWSC TENDER
MBABANE – Eswatini Water Services Corporation (EWSC) has awarded four companies a tender worth around E25 million.
This tender was for the supply of fleet and heavy plant equipment; NTT Toyota (Pty) Ltd, Swazi Trac (Pty) Ltd, Bell Equipment (Pty) Ltd and Heavy Plant Centre (Pty) Ltd were enlisted as the best evaluated responsive tenderers. Eight companies expressed their interest in the tender: Mbabane Motors (Pty) Ltd, Umoba (Pty) Ltd, Agrimech (Pty) Ltd and Kitwe Hydraulics were enlisted as the unsuccessful bidders.

NTT Toyota will receive the lion’s share of the contract as they were awarded five of the nine lots in the tender, worth over E17 million. Heavy Plant Centre (Pty) Ltd was awarded two lots of the tender, worth around E4 million, while Swazi Trac (Pty) Ltd and Bell Equipment (Pty) Ltd were each awarded a lot worth over E800 000 each. This was revealed by the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA) on their website. The intention to award the companies was published on Tuesday, and they are expected to begin executing it after 10 working days, should they not be contested.

According to the regulator, EWSC was looking for companies to supply vans, 4X4 double cabs, 4X4 single cabs, seven-seater MPVs, five-seater SUVs, tractors, mini excavators, TLBs and rollback trucks. The proposed contract price by the best-evaluated tenderers was E24 578 694.60, subject to confirmation. As the requesting entity, EWSC was also in charge of the procurement of the tender as well as its approvals. EWSC requested unsuccessful bidders to submit an application for review with the agency within 10 working days. “All tenderers who submitted bids are hereby notified that a period of 10 working days is hereby allowed for submission of any application for review,” said EWSC.
