US SUPPORTS AFCTA

MBABANE – The United States of America (USA) has reiterated its commitment in supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA).

In a visual press briefing on Tuesday, Assistant Secretary of StateMolly Phee,Judd Devermont who is the Bureau of African Affairs, and National Security Council Senior Director for African Affairs And Ambassador Johnnie Carson gave a brief update about The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit that took place in December of 2022.They highlighted that the US fully supports Africans to trade among each other.During the summit, the President of the USA, Joe Biden, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation for Trade and Investment Between the United States and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA) Secretariat to support negotiations and implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
