ESWATINIBANK LAUNCHES DIGITAL WALLET ‘SHARESHA’
MBABANE – EswatiniBank has introduced something new in the financial sector of Eswatini.
It is a digital wallet meant to disrupt the norm and present a unique, convenient and fulfilling experience for customers. The digital wallet is called ShareSha, and has been designed to simplify financial transactions by infusing creativity and smart technology. The wallet is accessible to cellphone users and accessed via App or by dialling a USSD code. Customers will be able to send money to their family and friends in seconds, purchase airtime, make bill payments, pay school fees and make payments at selected retail outlets.
Transactions
At the same time, customers will be able to track transactions and be able to see where their money is going. EswatiniBank Board Chairperson Dumisani Mahlinza said the introduction of the wallet into the market would empower small businesses to expand their services by providing an enabling platform for their customers to withdraw and deposit into their EswatiniBank digital wallets. Speaking during the launch of the digital wallet at the Royal Swazi Sun yesterday, Mahlinza said the fact that there was no need to open a bank account with their digital wallet, gave the unbanked and underserved communities access to financial services.
Mahlinza said ShareSha was a platform embedded on the Nomakuphi App that was guaranteed to uplift customers’ banking experience. He said the bank had re-imaged its customer service standards that committed the bank to a level of competency that customers may use to hold them accountable. “ShareSha and our enhanced internet banking are interlinked to reinforce our commitment of providing innovative solutions that elevate the quality of your life,” said the chairperson. He mentioned that as a bank, they understood that access to bank customer support needed to be always available when offering financial solutions such as ShareSha and internet banking. He said for this reason, the bank had a hot line number that customers could utilise to interface with them 24 hours a day.
Mahlinza highlighted that with the evolving digital landscape, they would like to allay they customers’ concerns surrounding the security features on the online banking systems. He said the bank aimed at continually implementing world class security measures to safeguard customers’ profiles and transactional activities. “Our enhanced platform utilises real-time fraud monitoring to provide the highest level of protection,” said Mahlinza.
Meanwhile, EswatiniBank Managing Director (MD) Nozizwe Mulela said they believed this wallet carried a world of convenience for the people of Eswatini. She said ShareSha was a smart digital wallet that one could access using any electronic gadget, be it a cellphone, tablet or laptop. Mulela said this wallet solution catered for customers and non-EswatiniBank customers or simply put, it’s a platform for everyone.
Dramatically
She said the world has changed dramatically over the past few years, digitisation and technology had become integral parts of daily lives. She said in this context, banking must not only keep pace with these changes, but lead the way in providing innovative solutions that empower customers. “ShareSha is the embodiment of that vision,” said the MD. The MD stated that the features of ShareSha were extensive and they included the features listed on the list above.
