ENPF INVESTMENT STRATEGY BUILT ON DIVERSIFICATION
MBABANE - The ENPF’s investment strategy is built on diversification across domestic, other African and global markets across a wide range of asset classes.
These include listed and unlisted equities, investment properties, loans and advances and short-term money market deposits. During the year under review, there was an upward trajectory with regard to local investments, showing that the fund continues to live its vision of being the major contributor to Eswatini’s socio-economic growth.
Asset
Local investments comprise 59 per cent of the portfolio, against 34 per cent held by various South Africa-based asset managers and 7 per cent by global asset managers. Local investments have continually yielded a higher percentage of our investment income.
The growth in assets under management averaged 10.8 per cent across the financial year, with a stronger accumulation in the second half of the financial year. The growth in assets emanates from additional investments made during the year as well as re-invested earnings and movements in asset fair values.
