BOXER CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATED AT E40M
MBABANE - The construction of the new Boxer Superstores at the Mbabane New Mall is estimated to be worth E40 000 000.
Of this amount, E6 000 000 will be allocated for contingencies and E34 000 000 for expenses. Laurence Samuel, the Project Manager, anticipates that the project will take seven to eight months once approved by the Eswatini Environment Authority (EEA). “The enlargement of the mall will revitalise its livelihood and create job opportunities for around 50 emaSwati, including security personnel, managers, tellers and more, who are all Mbabane citizens,” he said.

Samuel also emphasized that various local authorities and the public will benefit from the project, such as the Construction Industry Council, Eswatini Environment Authority, Eswatini Revenue Authority, and the public at large will greatly benefit from the project. -0Sonto Hlophe, a representative from the Ministry of Commerce, expressed delight at the prospect of more projects in the city, foreseeing the creation of numerous job opportunities.Wandile Sibandze, an Architect at Expressions Architects, mentioned plans for raised walkways and synchronised traffic lights to improve road safety around the mall.
Additionally, provisions for parking at the back of the mall are intended to alleviate peak-hour road traffic. J and E Construction from Nhlangano have been selected for the project, and both skilled and unskilled locals are encouraged to apply for jobs with the company once the project commences.
