… NEED TO COMPLEMENT EITF WITH INTRA-AFRICAN TRADE FAIR
EZULWINI – AfCFTA Secretary General (SG) Wamkele Mene says there is a need to develop some complementarities between the Eswatini International Trade Fair and the Intra-African Trade Fair.
Mene highlighted that the Intra-African Trade Fair takes place every two years, of which the last edition was held in November last year in Cairo, Egypt. He said there were about 13 000 exhibitors and over US$42 billion in transactions that took place at that trade fair. “We believe that we can work with the advisory council of the intra-Africa Trade Fair to make those complementarities with the EITF,” he said.
He stated that the next edition of the Intra-Africa Trade Fair would be held in September 2025 in Algeria, and they could look at how they could make sure that exhibitors from Eswatini participate as well in this big stage. Mene said they normally invite countries to have their stands during the intra-African trade fair.
