ESWATINI NATIONAL STANDARDS AUTHORITY ISSUES 22 STANDARDS
MBABANE – The Eswatini National Standards Authority (SWASA) has gazetted a set of 22 standards.
“It is notified for general information in terms of Section 21(1) of the Standards and Quality Act, 2023, that the under-listed standards have been designated by Eswatini National Standards,” read the gazette. The national standards include sustainable procurement guidance. This standard shall be designated Eswatini National Standard SZNS ISO 20400: 2017 Sustainable Procumbent-Guidance. This document provides guidance to organisations, independent of their activity or size, on integrating sustainability within procurement, as described in ISO 26000.
Decisions
It is intended for stakeholders involved in or impacted by procurement decisions and processes. Another developed standard is on adaptation to climate change—guidelines on vulnerability, impacts, and risk assessment. This standard shall be designated Eswatini National Standard SZNS ISO 14091:2021. Adaptation to climate- guidelines on vulnerability, impacts, and risk assessment. Another standard issued is on Principles for Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification. This standard shall be designated Eswatini National Standard SZNS CAC/GL-20-1995 Principles for Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification. This document outlines the principles to be adhered to for food import and export inspection and certification.
Descriptions
There is also a standard on raw cattle hides and calf skins, Part 1: Descriptions of defects. This standard shall be designated Eswatini National Standard SZNS ISO 2822-1:1998 raw cattle hides and calfskins—Part 1: Description of defects. This part of ISO 2822 describes the defects that may occur on raw cattle hides and calf skins intended for tanning. This standard is applicable to fresh and cured raw cattle hides and calf skins, but not to casualty hides and skins.
