MBABANE – Following the interest rate cuts announced by the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE), Nedbank Eswatini expects a drop in non-performing loans.

Nedbank Eswatini Managing Director Fikile Nkosi said inasmuch as it is still early to tell the impact of the drop in interest rates by 26 basis points from 7.50 to 7.25 per cent, but the bank expects a drop in the NPL ratio. Nkosi said if interest rates drop, commercial clients in particular are able to take more loans for the expansion of their businesses.
She said as a bank they will also be able to sell more of their credit products.
