CBE DEPUTY GOVERNOR RETAINS POSITION FOR NEXT 5YRS
MBABANE – The Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) Deputy Governor, Felicia Dlamini, has been reappointed for yet another five years.
Last week, the Minister of Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, approved the reappointment of Dlamini following a recommendation from the CBE Board of Directors. Her new contract comes into effect on December 1, 2024, and is for a fixed term of five years, succeeding her current term, which expires on November 30, 2024. An accomplished Economist, Dlamini’s reappointment marks a continued effort to cement the mandate of the Central Bank of ensuring price and financial stability.
She brings with her a wealth of expertise and experience, that have had a positive impact in shaping the country’s economic landscape. The deputy governor has an extensive and impressive track record in the field of economics, having risen the ranks within the CBE. She served as an economist within the Research Department and was later seconded to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director and the Africa Group 1 Constituency.
She has also served as an Advisor to the Ministry of Finance and as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director of the African Development Bank (AfDB). The deputy governor, being second in command within the ranks of the CBE, works closely with the governor and Executive Committee members in driving the mandate of the bank and ensuring that the financial system remains resilient and efficient. In her tenure as the Deputy Governor, Dlamini has been instrumental in driving policies that have shaped the Central bank and contributed immensely to the overall objectives of the bank.
