MBABANE – MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Wandile Mtshali has called for the local businesses to intensify diversification and digitise their operations.

Mtshali said inasmuch as a lot of work when it comes to internet connectivity in the country has been done, there are still areas that are lagging behind. He said this includes embracing the cloud data transition. He said most businesses in Eswatini had not yet tapped into this space.

Transition

Cloud data transition, also known as cloud migration, is the process of moving data, applications and other business elements from an on-premises or other cloud environment to a cloud computing platform. The goal of the cloud data transition is to increase flexibility, accessibility and scalability, while also reducing operational expenses. He said otherwise, Eswatini has made significant strides in the networking space, as it currently sits at around 98 per cent of broadband connectivity. He said this the country one of the highest broadband-connected countries in Africa.
