MBABANE – Eswatini’s most trusted and admired brands will soon be recognised at the first-ever Top Brands Awards Eswatini

The awards are set to take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at SibaneSami Hotel.

Hosted by integrated marketing company Yati Group, the event will be officiated by the Minister for Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo. Beyond celebrating excellence, the awards will provide businesses with critical insights to strengthen their market positioning, enhance consumer trust and gain a competitive edge—both locally and globally.

In today’s fast-paced and highly competitive business environment, brand trust is a crucial factor in market success. Companies that earn consumer confidence often see increased customer loyalty, higher sales and greater resilience during economic fluctuations.

Brands

Through an independent nationwide survey, the Top Brands Awards Eswatini will identify and rank the most trusted brands, providing businesses with actionable intelligence on their market standing. This approach aligns Eswatini’s business landscape with global standards of brand evaluation, giving local enterprises the tools to refine their strategies and outperform competitors.

Yati Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mfundo Mavimbela highlighted the significance of the rankings: “By recognising the brands that truly resonate with consumers, we are giving businesses a valuable opportunity to understand their strengths and improve their market positioning. This is not just an award—it is a strategic advantage.”

The recognition of trusted brands is not a new phenomenon. Around the world, similar awards honour companies that consistently deliver quality and reliability.

The Most Trusted Brands Awards by Reader’s Digest recognises brands in the US, Canada and Australia based on consumer perception and loyalty.

The World Branding Awards by the World Branding Forum celebrate companies that excel in brand valuation and market research, with past winners including Apple, Coca-Cola and Samsung. Brand Africa 100 ranks the continent’s most admired brands, reflecting African consumer preferences and economic influence.

By launching Top Brands Awards Eswatini, the country is aligning itself with these international benchmarks, helping local businesses gain credibility in both regional and global markets.

Trends

The awards go beyond recognition—they equip businesses with data-driven insights to stay ahead in a competitive market. Participants will have access to exclusive market intelligence reports, offering a deeper understanding of brand positioning, industry trends and consumer behaviour.

By leveraging these reports, businesses can make informed decisions, improve their market engagement, and build a stronger competitive position. Reports and event tickets are available at www.topbrandseswatini.com/awards. The recognition of local brands also aligns with the Made in Eswatini initiative, championed by Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini and A Peculiar People. This movement promotes homegrown products and businesses, ensuring that Eswatini-made goods gain prominence both locally and internationally.

By identifying and rewarding trusted brands, Top Brands Awards Eswatini supports this initiative, reinforcing the message that Eswatini businesses can compete at global standards. The synergy between these two efforts will enhance consumer confidence, drive business growth and boost the country’s economic development.

The presence of Minister Khumalo at the awards underscores the crucial role of brand trust in Eswatini’s economic landscape. The event will bring together top executives, marketing professionals and industry leaders to discuss how brand reputation influences consumer behaviour and business performance.

Recognition

With the business world becoming increasingly competitive, strong brand positioning is more critical than ever. The Top Brands Awards Eswatini will provide companies with the tools, recognition and insights needed to gain an edge in the marketplace.

Furthermore, In Eswatini, there are other notable business awards including the Eswatini Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EYA), which recognises MSMEs, and the Eswatini Quality Awards, which focus on quality culture and standards in businesses.

Last year saw the inaugural Consumer Choice Awards recognising 24 local brands out of over 100 nominees, celebrating excellence in various categories like food, beverages, fashion and hospitality.
