‘BIG FISH’ STEPS DOWN AS BIG FISH MUSIC MD
MBABANE – Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane has stepped down as the Managing Director of Big Fish Music.
Assuming the position is his first born son Nhlanhla Makhabane.
Nhlanhla (26) has already taken up the position which his father was in control of for the past 20 years.
Introducing his son, Makhabane who is fresh from a nasty car accident which happened about two months ago said he was old and therefore he felt the time had come to pass things over to his son.
Future
Makhabane said as someone who had a number of businesses and promoted a number of artists that were under his stable he sat down and thought about the future of his company and that is when he realised his son was the right person to take over.
“I have already started the handing over process, I can see he is coping and he is going to be able to handle the business aspect of the music industry.”
Task
Makhabane said he was aware that this was not an easy task for his son but he has faith in him and he strongly believed that the brand Big Fish will remain at the top.
“I have told him that while my concentration will not be in promoting artists and managing the business as much as I used too but I will still be there as an advisor. I love music and it’s my passion.”
Among the responsibilities Nhlanhla has be given is to identify new talent and also see to it that the brand grows to even greater levels.
