RSP BAND GETS 4 000 NACA VOTES IN 2 DAYS
MBABANE – The Royal Swaziland Police Band has pumped in over 4 000 votes in a space of two days, as the National Arts and Culture Awards (NACA) voting process heats up.
The votes have since reached a 40 000 mark. The police band used the internet voting as they took the lead in the best New Comer Category.
Leading
The band now has 4 656 votes and is followed by Quad Element who have been leading for the past weeks with 2 075 votes.
Third is Praise Unlimited with 331 while Nothando Hlophe of ‘Khululuqobo’ fame sits on the last position with 218 votes.
Also receiving tight competition is Mkhulisi ‘Switch’ Khumalo who is competing in the Best Male Artist.
The gospel rapper is currently leading with 3 126 votes. Following closely is Linda Dlamini who currently has 2 323 votes.
KrTC sits on the third position with 504 votes, while Sandz is last with 61 votes.
While the overall leader is gospel artist Mayibongwe Mthimkhulu who is currently at 20 508.
Pleased
Thulani Mtetwa, Umvini Events Management Project Manager, said they were pleased with the current votes, adding that artists should continue voting.
“Artists are encouraged to continue voting with an understanding that that there is a BMW up for grabs. This vehicle can be driven by anyone and, therefore, we encourage them to continue voting,” he said.
