OVER 400 BRAVE RAINS TO SEE DR TUMI
MBABANE – Heavy rains could not stop gospel music lovers from attending the last day of the ‘Back to the Cross’ revivals.
While it was raining heavily on Thursday, the gospel music followers opted to walk on the muddy pitch as they were eager to watch a performance by South African award-winning gospel artist Dr Tumi.
The artist, who happens to be one of the most popular in Swaziland, was in the country courtesy of Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule and his wife Zanele Mbokazi.
The ‘Back to the Cross’ services were hosted by the couple through their church known as the Word of Hope Ministries.
Dr Tumi happened to be one of the artists who attended the services. The service held on Thursday was one anticipated by music lovers as a lot of performances were lined up .
Just before the evening service started, it rained heavily, but gospel music lovers filled the marquee that had been pitched at the open ground behind the Galp Filling Station.
While praise and worship was the order of the night most gospel music lovers were asking each other if the visiting artist was present.
Indeed they were not disappointed as Zanele Mbokazi went on stage to introduce South Africa’s Dr Tumi, and the crowd went wild, clapping and screaming. They showed great appreciation to the gospel star and commented on how they were happy to be watching him free of charge.
Indeed they were not disappointed as the artist made sure he sang most of his popular songs.
Among those that he sang was the one titled ‘Nothing But You’, which was loved by most of those who attended the service as they asked for an encore. As if they had come for only Dr Tumi’s performance, as soon as he left the stage after performing for 30 minutes some of music lovers left, claiming that they had seen the artist they had come for.
Most of the music lovers thanked the bishop and Mbokazi for bringing Dr Tumi into the country.
They mentioned that they were impressed with the artist’s performance, saying they were hoping that he would come back soon for another one.
Mbokazi thanked all those who attended the service, also thanking Dr Tumi for agreeing to come to the services.
