MTN PUMPS IN E474 000 FOR SWAMA AWARDS 2017
EZULWINI – There is no other song local artists could have sang on Wednesday except for the one titled ‘Yello MTN’, in appreciation.
The mobile company has pumped in a sum of E474 000 towards the MTN SWAMA Music Awards.
The awards were launched at the Mahlalekhukwini House in the presence of the Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini.
Unveiling the sponsorship was Swazi MTN’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ambrose Dlamini, who mentioned that his company was pleased to once again associate itself with arts.
Dlamini said they have always been involved in arts in the country, adding that when MTN BUSHFIRE started, no one knew it would be one of the top festivals in the world.
“Soon after Swazi MTN aligned itself with the BUSHFIRE Festival, things suddenly changed and the festival was later ranked among the world’s best.
As a company we appreciate this,” he said.
Dlamini continued to say that he hoped that the Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA) and Swazi MTN’s relationship would go a long way.
“We believe that in the next three years SWAMA will be different than what it is today, and this will happen because of the contribution we have made towards the awards,” added Dlamini.
