DJ 1D TOPS SBIS RADIO CHARTS

 MBABANE – One of Swaziland’s talented hip hop spinners DJ 1D (pronounced ‘Wandi’) has had his first music single ‘Gijima mfana’ finally topping the SBIS Top 20 charts.


 Having debuted December 2016 ,the song moved to the pinnacle last Friday, displacing three-week number one ‘Mporoma’ by Nomalungelo.
“Congratulations are in order to the versatile DJ, whose song has struck all the right chords with many a listeners,” said Bongani ‘DJ Tizalami’ Dube, the chart show co-host.


Bongani ‘Bobo’ Dlamini said ‘Gijima mfana’ had all the right elements for modern hip hop, and lauded all the artists who were featured on the track. These are Siyinqaba duo of KrTC and Mozaik, Crax, Jurie, and Triggerson. The presenters also recognised the beat maker Alex Muti for his sterling craft.


“This is surely a big record that will resonate with many and we congratulate DJ 1D for his impressive showing in his first mainstream recording attempt,” said Bobo.
Meanwhile, Mpumalanga-based and Manzini rapper Eskay made an appearance on the show, highlighting some of the projects he’s currently working on.
He went on to debut a killer single which features a South African rapper by the name Kaspero.


The chart show airs Fridays at 11am and 8pm on SBIS2, and plays local hip hop, house, RnB, and other urban contemporary genres. Swazi Rhythm, another all local music show, plays Tuesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 9am. Lindelwa ‘Lindz’ Mafa presents the latter.
