MENTALLY CHALLENGED MAN REPORTED MISSING
MBABANE – People in need seem to see gospel artist Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane as someone who can help.
Even those who are mentally challenged regard the artist’s house as their home.
In a recent incident, *Sabelo Dlamini, a mentally challenged man, went all the way from Mpolonjeni, an area situated a few kilometres outside the city centre, to Siphofaneni.
Dlamini’s sole intention was to meet Gawuzela and his wife LaZwide as he claimed that he had seen them singing during some of their shows.
Information gathered is that on Sunday, Dlamini (19) went to church with some of his family members. They normally attend church at the Church of Jesus Christ.
He did not tell anyone where he was headed, as he walked out in the middle of the church service but managed to find his way to Gawuzela’s home. It is said that he used public transport to make it to Siphofaneni. Since he had no money, he told the conductors that if they wanted money, Gawuzela would pay.
Upon reaching Siphofaneni, he was shown the way leading to Gawuzela’s home. However, as he was walking towards the artist’s homestead, Gawuzela, who was from church, met him along the way. Gawuzela, who never knew that Dlamini was looking for him gave him a lift innocently.
When he asked him where he was going, Dlamini told him that he was going to his home.
“I did not understand what he was saying and I asked him if he knew the person he was looking for. He claimed that it was his home, referring to my house. After hearing him insisting that he was going to my place, I then went home with him,” said
