MBABANE - It was a social media war of words as music lovers blasted the Hipnotik Festival organisers for being too expensive.

Following the uproar over the high ticket price of the Hipnotik Festival golden circle by fans which costs E15 000, Swazi Jive Director Sakhile Nkambule has come out to clear the air.
In an official statement, he revealed that the golden circle tickets are usually an offer made to their high-end clients who have been willing to pay this amount since 2012, according to the event founder.

“We have been catering for this high end clientele since 2012 and as the festival gains popularity, more people want to know exactly what the golden circle package comes with, which is great. I would like to emphasise that it is our general guests who always make the festival atmosphere electrifying, so I encourage them as loyal fans to get the cheaper early bird tickets at E150 before we start announcing the line-up,” he said.

He went on to say that as Swazi Jive they pride themselves in delivering a better experience than the previous years, as they continue to grow.
“I enjoyed reading some of the comments from our fans and other industry stakeholders regarding our ticket prices, especially comments about the golden circle,” he further said.
Nkambule clarified that the E15 000 package was reserved for a target clientele that enjoys the package.

Elaborating on what the golden circle package entailed, Nkambule stated that among other perks, golden circle ticket holders get to have designated waiters, reserved seats on high end couches, all access passes and exclusive entrance and parking areas. They also enjoy seating in the no media zone circle, as the media is not allowed to take pictures or any camera footage in the golden circle .  Even guests who want to take selfies are asked to please do so  with caution without incidentally taking a picture of another  guest. It is also a fully culinary catered for space as guests enjoy complimentary food and drinks.

Nkambule further said that the other ticket holders also have their own packages, explaining that the general ticket holders would utilise the unreserved standing area and access to general bars and stalls, while the VIPs would be invited to the event pre-party which usually features the performing artists, where they get to mingle with them.
