MBABANE – Awkward but colourful are words best used to describe Wednesday night’s comedy show.

The show was hosted by Swazi comedian, Dale Abrahams at Mbabane Club.
Comedy nights are known to be all about rib cracking jokes, but Wednesday night gave a new meaning to  that definition as comedians were joking about hard hitting jokes that most would have felt uncomfortable listening due to the fact that they seem racial and sexual.

Before the event kicked off, the room proved to be a full house as all the seating spaces that were made available were occupied with different waiters serving well cooked delicious snacks for the guests. Taking over the stage was, Abrahams who started off the show with some rib cracking jokes that warmed up the audience for the rest of the night.

The talented Swazi comedian and actor who has appeared in numerous films, television shows and theatre production introduced local comedian Mandy on stage to give her a platform to perform for the audience of which she killed it.
Judging by the applause and comments after her performance, Mandy was their favourite on the night as she joked about the differences that the black and white races have. These were the comparisons that she made from different life events and they seem to have impressed the audience.

Taking over the stage next was Dr Shakes who is currently promoting his one man show that will take place this June 29.
As a norm, the tall comedian made a grand entrance with the late Mandoza’s song playing in the background. He took everyone by surprise when he joked on how it’s quite stressful as a ‘black person’ to have a white person smile at you because one just doesn’t know what it means as that ‘white person’ might be swearing at them.

However, the crowd seem to have not minded his jokes as they laughed along as he continued to perform. He would now and again remind the crowd that he is single and that he doesn’t mind dating an ‘original yellow bone’ which he referred to the ‘white women’ that were part of the crowd.
One hour thirty minutes in, the show ended with Dale closing off with some jokes of his own of which were mainly about his experiences in Swaziland.
