MBABANE – In what could be described as an unprecedented move ever since the Swaziland’s Biggest Braai initiative was established three years ago, this year’s event is posed to go international as popular and loved Ugandan soccer administrator and business tycoon Ben Immanuel Missaga has confirmed his attendance.

In a telephone interview from Uganda Missaga, who is president of East Africa’s most successful soccer team Sports Club Villa, said news of Swaziland’s Biggest Braai reached his country thanks to online news sites (including Times of Swaziland’s online portal) and captured several top people’s interest.

“I can confirm that our former Minister for Investments Mbalali Muyanda and I will be part of a four-member contingent from the Buganda Kingdom, to witness this global phenomenon called Swaziland’s Biggest Braai. In fact, we first heard of the initiative and saw pictures two years go, but the publicity we noticed online for this year’s event influenced our decision to be part of this event,” said Missaga.

He said the entourage’s visit to Swaziland and attendance of the event will serve as a learning curve with a view of establishing the same in Uganda.
“As businesspeople and civic leaders, we are involved in various charity works in Uganda, and we continue to seek and learn new ways of fund raising for various charities. Our participating at this year’s Swaziland’s Biggest Braai, therefore, augurs well with our desire to learn and possibly imitate the same back home,” explained Missaga.

He also revealed that the Ugandan Minister of Sports was supportive of the learning mission to Swaziland’s Biggest Braai.
