CROCS CREATIONS FOR DUBAI FASHION WEEK
MBABANE- A local fashion brand is set to rock the runway in Dubai.
This comes after Zodwa Carol Ngwenya, who is the Founder and Head Designer of the local brand, Carol Crocs Creations, was invited by ALITI Africa, to represent Swaziland at the 2017 ALITI Africa Dubai Fashion Week to take place July 7 at Flora Grand Hotel, Al Rigga Rd, Dubai.
The ALITI Africa-Dubai Fashion Week will be the first fashion week of its kind to focus on bringing the vast majority of talented African designers and African industry professionals from all over the world in one location, which is Dubai.
United Arab Emirates, Ambassadors, Consulate representatives, local and international media together with international celebrities and business professionals will be in attendance to contribute to the success of this esteemed event. The intention of the event is not only to boost the exposure and reputation of African Fashion Designers in the UAE and subsequently the rest of the Middle East but also further strengthen Middle-Eastern and African business relations. Ngwenya has been invited to showcase her designs before but the show got postponed due to issues that had risen at the time.
This time around, the local talented designer has confirmed that she will be jetting off to Dubai where she will be showcasing her new collection.
“I’m looking forward to showcasing my designs. This is not about me but about representing the country and making sure that I show off the talent that we have, in that way I will be getting exposure and also raising the country’s flag. I am more than prepared.”
She said she was hoping that her trip to Dubai will open doors for other fashion designers.
