MBABANE – Gospel artists will have reasons to smile during this year’s Swaziland International Trade Fair.
After three years of one Gospel Sunday during the Trade Fair, ACASWA has been granted two Sundays this year.

ACASWA is the mother body of all Christian artists in the country and the association has been in charge of the gospel Sunday event given to them.

For the past three years, the Swaziland Investment Promotions Authority (SIPA) has allowed ACASWA to host only one Sunday.
Information gathered is that the ACASWA executive, led by Zakhele Ginindza, met SIPA officials where the matter of the Gospel Sundays was discussed at length.

The meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon. It is during this meeting where it was agreed that ACASWA be allowed to run both Sundays.

This means gospel music lovers will once again enjoy the music as local artists will perform on both Sundays. First to be called was SIPA where all comments were referred to the CEO Phumelele Dlamini.

Dlamini could not be reached for comment as her phone rang unanswered. Also called was ACASWA’s Public Relations Officer Ronnie Dlamini who at first did not want to talk about the matter, saying he wanted to know where the Entertainment Desk got the information.

He later confirmed the new developments, thanking SIPA for once again allowing them to host both Sundays.
“We have met with SIPA and agreed that ACASWA will be the host of both Gospel Sundays this year,” he said.
He made it clear that they would be using strictly ACASWA members, adding that the number of artists to take part during the festival might increase.
