MATSAPHA – He was expected to serenade his fans at Esibayeni Lodge but that was not to be.

This is none other than South African gospel music star Dr Tumi whose show was cancelled at the last minute.
The ‘Nothing without You’ fame artist was expected to perform on Saturday night courtesy of Toy Story, at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini.
At the time the show was cancelled, it had been sold out and most people especially women had already purchased their outfits and were ready for the big night.
However, five hours before the show, the South African star posted on social network Facebook, alerting his fans that he was no longer coming to Swaziland.

Most of those who saw the post did not believe it as they thought there were people who were making attempts to stop them from attending the show.
However, the rumours that the artist was no longer coming continued.
On the post the artist was informing his fans that he would no longer be coming, he mentioned that the organisers had not been able to fulfil their obligations with regard to arrangements for him and his band.
“Good afternoon family.

“We were scheduled to be in Swaziland today but unfortunately the organisers of the event were not able to fulfil their obligations and arrange for our coming,” reads part of the post.
He added, “We tried our best to allow them time to sort out the arrangements but unfortunately the plans did not succeed.
I do apologise for the inconvenience it may have caused. At this point it surely is impossible to come through. I do apologise.”
Dr Tumi said there were certain agreements that the organisers could not meet which forced them not to attend the show.
“I am so sorry,” he said.

Speaking to Dr Tumi during a phone call to him in the evening he said, “Nothing was organised.
“They were supposed to make certain payments, book accommodation and transport.
We received cheques which seemingly were faked.
“We were told that the chairman of their company stole the money that was supposed to be used for the event and they are trying to make other arrangements.
So the cheques bounced at the bank and those arrangements did not materialise.”
