‘IN THE WOODS’ FUN FAIR IN DECEMBER
MBABANE – After years of silence, Mhlambanyatsi promises to come alive again.
Former Mhlambanyatsi Club, which is now known as In the Woods, will be hosting a fun fair which has been titled ‘In the Woods Forest Fair’, an event which promises to become annual.
The last time this venue was truly alive was in 2014, when it hosted the popular Summer Showdown, which attracted thousands of fun and deep house music lovers from all over the country.
This event though, will reminisce Simunye Fun Fair, an event which also died down in 2014.
In the Woods’ Debbie Carvalho, revealed that this inaugural event, which is set for December 1, will start off at a low key.
“We are not looking to spend so much money towards the event as yet, so we have made it to be a one day event. But we are looking at a future whereby we will expand the fair through the years,” said Carvalho.
Carvalho also highlighted that doors are open to artists who are willing to perform, as no live performances have been incorporated into the activities of the day as yet.
She also stated that this event is for charitable courses.
“We have opened our hands to people who wish to set-up stalls and make money, as this is a way for us to give back to the community,” she said. She also said that portrait makers are also welcome to exhibit and sell their work.
So far, this event is targeted at families and all Swazi people at large.
“Mhlambanyatsi is a quiet place, we should uphold that precedence even on the day,” she said.
