SIPHOCOSINI – “Zulu, we want to party!”

This was the trending statement of the night in which fun lovers screamed throughout the night during the 2nd edition of the Mega Sound Picnic at Luphohlo Dam on Saturday night. DJ Zulu is Mega Sound’s Samkelo ‘Zulu D’ Zulu who is known to throw epic parties. During the show, the over 500 fun lovers braved the cold and rainy weather and had epic fun. They danced and screamed with excitement the whole night. During the show, most of the DJs of the night dished out Gqom music sounds, which many frantically danced to. Some of the revellers were seen climbing on each other’s shoulders as they danced, and this type of dance became the theme style  of the night. The excited attendees became ‘performers’ themselves as they voluntarily climbed the stage and showed off various dance moves.

Some of these fun lovers stayed on the stage so long, in high spirits that security personnel had  to escort them off the stage. The DJs of the night seemed to be in a good mood as they sometimes ditched the decks to dance on stage for the crowd. One of the trending lines of the night was ‘umuntfu etikwa lomunye’ (a person should climb on another person), a line which encouraged the fun lovers to climb on each other’s shoulders, as they danced. This 2nd edition of the Mega Sound picnic reminisced the first one which was on March 4 this year. On both occasions, fun lovers braved the cold and rain and had wild fun in the open lawn set up until the early morning hours.
