SNCAC PAYS ACASWA ARTISTS
MBABANE – He was described as someone who always wanted to see people happy, and that is exactly what happened during his send off.
Artists who participated in the memorial service and funeral of the late businessman Victor Gamedze received a token of appreciation for a job well done.
In as much as artists under the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA) were not paid for any performance fee as this was a memorial, all their sundry expenses were catered for.
Artists who took part were each paid monies to take care of their travelling expense to and from the past weekend’s funeral proceedings. The money was courtesy of the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC).
Offered
Information gathered is that after the death of the businessman, ACASWA’s executive committee led by the association’s president Mzwakhe Myeni offered to help the family by providing artists for the two services.
It is after a few challenges regarding travelling were raised that SNCAC came to ACASWA’s rescue giving them an undisclosed amount of money to pay for their artists travel costs.
Among the artists who performed at the memorial and funeral service were Mzwakhe Myeni, Frans Dlamini, Apostle Vusi Maculuve, Phetsile Masilela and many more.
It could not be gathered how much the SNCAC gave the artists, as both organisations refused to divulge the sum.
