MANZINI- Laughter is the best medicine.  As comedy lovers flocked into Molly’s House of Grills in Manzini from as early as 7.30pm one could  already tell that it would be a good night.

The anticipation was palpable prior to the ‘His Grace Comedy Show’as everyone in attendance wanted to see what the comedians had to offer, especially because these were all new jokes. All the comedians had to refrain from using any vulgar language as per the theme ‘His Grace’. The show was more of a comic way of thanking God for another year for comedians.

Comedians for the night included the likes of Swaziland’s celebrated Dr Shakes, Mdura and Mandy sharing a stage with Ntando Van Moyo ‘The General’ from Zimbabwe.
Regardless of the fact that the show was scheduled to start at 7:30pm, fun lovers kept their cool as it eventually started at 8:16pm with Mdura greeting and warming up the audience with female comedian Mandy being first on stage.
The 150 attendees were likely expecting and hoping that  Dr Shakes would do what he is famous for which is firing shots at everyone, but he kept it simple and cool delivering simple jokes mostly about January woes.

Jumping on stage after Dr Shakes was Ntando Van Moyo ‘The General’ from Zimbabwe who made an appearance and the crowd went into a frenzy. His opening on stage was to try and get the attention of the audience as he pleaded with them to bear with his heavy Zimbabwean accent.

“ I hope you will understand my jokes, accent and all,” he said. Much to the laughter of the audience. Sure enough the comedian kept them laughing during his 20 minute long set, with his jokes centred on miracle pastors.
The show proved to be a success ending just after 11:30pm.
