MALKERNS – Save the best for last! This was the case with South Africa’s jazz legend Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, who was the second of the last performers on the MTN BUSHFIRE main stage on Sunday.

His performance took off at around 7pm, where he walked onto the stage with an emotional performance, as he rendered a gospel classic titled ‘Nkosi Sihlangene’.

The song sent many into frenzy and some churchy emotions with his swift sounds from the saxophone.
He then humbly greeted his EmaSwati fans, stating that he was excited to be with them once again.

He first played his contemporary jazz tracks, which are not that well-known but were well- received by the fun-lovers, whose eyes were glued to the stage.

After the slow contemporary start, he heated up his performance with ‘Shikisha’, a dance song which he released in 1987.
His performance lasted for over 40 minutes and during his performance, as expected, he performed ‘Jaiva Soweto’ and ‘Burn Out’, a song which was also released in 1987 but is still an ‘it’ track even today.
