MBABANE – Is Gawuzela venturing into politics? This is one question most people are asking themselves following his request for a special leave at work.

Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane, leader of Mduduzi Nezinceku Zamagagwugawu, will be on leave during the period of the coming elections.

Simelane is a teacher by profession.
He is currently a primary school teacher at Mnotfweni Primary School in the Lubombo Region.

Information gathered is that Simelane made a formal request to his employer, Government of Eswatini through the Teaching Service Commission (TSC), asking that he be released during the process of the elections.
Reasons why Gawuzela asked to be released during such time could not be gathered as it was only stated that he had asked to be released on special leave during the period of the elections.

Granted

It should be noted that TSC has already granted Gawuzela the leave and it’s with effect from tomorrow.
It has also been gathered that Gawuzela has already received a letter confirming that he has been granted leave for the duration of the elections.
The letter was signed by Mduduzi Nkambule who is the TSC Executive Secretary.

The Entertainment Desk made an attempt to get a comment from the Nkambule. However, he could not be reached as his phone was out of reach.
The Entertainment Desk then called the TSC office where it was gathered that Gawuzela was not the only teacher to request special leave as there are others who had also asked to be released on special leave.

Gawuzela seemed to be surprised when asked the reasons behind the special leave, especially during the time of the National Elections.
“How did you get to know this issue,” asked Gawuzela.
Gawuzela later confirmed that he had asked for special leave and his wish was granted.
