FNB INJECTS E60 000 TO MTN SWAMA AWARDS
MBABANE – Corporate entities are making sure that the art industry in the country stays happy.
FNB Swaziland pumped in E60 000 towards the upcoming MTN SWAMA Awards which are set for December 1. The lump sum was happily received last Friday at the Corporate Place Swazi Plaza in Mbabane, by members of the MTN SWAMA Awards Executive Committee and the Swaziland Arts and Music Association (SWAMA) President Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini, alongside SWAMA Patron Her Royal Highness Princess Sibakhe.
Honours
Representing FNB Swaziland was Head of Marketing Zethu Dlamini, who said that it honours them to get more involved in arts in the country. “One of our first engagements in the arts and music in the country was with SmoothFest, and now, we are proud to sponsor the upcoming SWAMA Awards with E60 000. “Also, we are still going to involve ourselves in arts in the country, as it is a growing industry and we can see that artists are now making a living out of it. It is a business,” said Dlamini.
Sponsorship
Princess Sibakhe happily received the sponsorship, saying that the quality of the awards will be enhanced because of it. “We gladly receive the sponsorship and we hope that your company continues assisting the arts industry, as many people are now making a living out of it,” she said. In a brief interview with this publication, the MTN SWAMA Award committee highlighted that the sponsorship does not mean any increase in prize money. “The sponsorship will enhance the quality production of the event,” they said.
