MANZINI – Gqom music has, again, proven to exude the dance animal in people.

It was nothing but dance, especially the ‘vosho’ style, at the Gqom Invasion Show which was at Cloud 9 (former White House) in Manzini last Saturday where South African gqom music gurus Sparks Bantwana, TDK Macasette and Madanon were headliners.
The over 250 Manzini fun lovers, like most people, responded positively to the sounds that were rendered by DJs and entertainers of the night by dancing the night away and not minding who watched.

The show, however, did not start at a high as revellers did not only flock the venue until after midnight. This time, the organiser off the show KB tried to keep the present few entertained with the unknown yet catchy gqom sounds.
The sprits at the venue started picking up after 2am where MTN SWAMA Award winning DJ Master P got on the decks and started off with Siyinqaba song ‘Gwayimane’. By the end of his set, the main acts of the night had arrived and the party heated up.
The first act started performing at 4am and it was TDK Macasette, the ‘Nayi LeWalk’ hit maker who grabbed the attention of many with her costume and energy. She gave a great 20 minute performance while South African renowned DJ and music producer Sparks Bantwana was on the decks.

Immediately after her rendition, Madanon got on stage and in his performance, he was communicating with the crowd, which made him acquire a following accompanied by screams.
He performed for over 25 minutes and he rendered his hit songs ‘Mercedes’, ‘Gandaganda’ and others.
Other highlights were the performance of Tanzanian artist Genius who rendered the perfect rap music. The show continued until the wee hours of the morning.
