MBABANE - The light shining in the entertainment industry saw the less privileged benefit from it as close to E1 000 was raised last Thursday.

On this night, Megasound Events collaborated with local comedians and hosted a charity comedy night where money in cash, toys and food parcels were collected. Kwazi Masuku, through Kwazi Foundation, donated E500 and promised to give more in the future.  Most of the people who attended came with different donations during the fun-filled event which was held at Ron-Deh-Voo at Sidwashini. The entrance fee was E100 and comedian Ndosh said the money raised would definitely be directed to the needy children as the event was about them.

In as much as comedians and musicians brought fun on stage, there was also enough time for the crowd to give to the needy as performances were paused in order for offerings to take place. “We are happy with the response we got. People made this possible by not shying away from giving. We are going to distribute these items to the needy,” Ndosh said.
Comedian Dr Shakes said it was a fulfilling moment for him as he loved giving. He said a lot of children would benefit from this initiative. He further thanked Megasound Events for making the event possible.

While speaking after the show, Nqaba Ginindza of Kwazi Foundation, said they were happy to be involved in charity. “We are still going to give more. We were not prepared for this event, we wish we had given more,” he said. On stage, comedians, Mdura and Dr Shakes proved to the audience why they are regarded as one of the best with their flawless sets. They left the audience in stitches as they joked about children and life for those who use public transport. The show also saw up-and-coming comedians, Macfiga and Aya D being given an opportunity to introduce their craft, while Virus Africa, M Age LePoet and Majaha Nkonyane brought the house down with their performances. After the performances on stage, Megasound Events’ DJs took over and made the crowd dance the night away with the latest house and hip hop music.
