SMALLZ STEALS SHOW AT ‘ULTIMATE END OF YEAR AFFAIR’

EZULWINI – He might have been a last addition to the line-up, but Smallz was an instant hero on Wednesday night.

The petite comedian climbed on stage before the main act, Siyanda Maphumulo and stole the show with his fresh and hilarious jokes that mainly touched on the lifestyle in Eswatini. This was during the Ultimate End of Year Affair show which featured Siyanda Maphumulo. The show was organised by Happy Valley Hotel and it was held in one of their conference rooms.

When he was called out to the stage by experienced comedian Mfolozi ‘Mfo’ Maziya, Smallz did not waste time, as he introduced himself by having a go at Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) CEO Stanley Dlamini, whom he spotted immediately after climbing on stage.

He jokingly said after losing his herd of cattle, he went to consult with traditional healers and Dlamini’s popped up during the consultation. However, he was quick and clear to say he was not accusing him of any ills as he saw the face on a newspaper that was being used by the traditional healer.

“Since you are a public figure, you appear on newspapers now and then and the whole nation knows about you. I congratulate you for that, and that is why I was happy when I saw your face on the newspaper while I was consulting on who stole my cattle.

Cattle

“I am not saying you are the one who stole my cattle; all I am saying is that your face popped up while the traditional healer threw his bones and I was happy to note you also appear in places like Maphungwayo. Oh, by the way, the traditional healer said I must tell you it has been a long time since he last saw you,” he shared, much to the amusement of the crowd.

Another person who felt the comedian’s humorous sting was DJ Karly B. The comical entertainer joked about how cosmetic products such as Pond’s ran for their dear life when the DJ enters the shop, due to his dark complexion.

Arguing

“You would find the Pond’s products arguing with other skincare products because none of the products would be willing to be bought by the DJ as they would be labelled as not working. The skincare products would push and shove while trying to avoid being picked by him due to his dark complexion as they would believe his skin is resisting and making the products look less effective,” he joked before acknowledging the DJ for attending the show.

Another joke that got the audience in stitches is when he said Jericho church leaders always have a back up song to use whenever they forget the verses to quote from the Bible. He added that this was a practice the congregation also understood very well as the leader would all of a sudden start singing, when he is actually supposed to read the verse, and the congregation would join him in song.
