Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. Phiwokuhle   Sihlongoyane is not just a young person but she is a trend and fashion lover who believes that clothes define who a person is.
She has dreams to be an entrepreneur.

The bubbly outspoken Phiwo takes GCWALA into a world of dressing up and her love for fashion.

Who is Phiwokuhle?
Phiwokuhle is a self-driven girl who is absolutely not shy. A go-getter who does not allow anybody to define who she is, rather she defines herself. She has a big heart and likes meeting new faces. She can work pretty well under pressure and believes one isn’t fully dressed without a smile.

What do you do?
At the moment I’ve sent out applications to different universities since I recently completed high school and I’m hoping for the best.

Can dressing up define who you are?
Dressing up can define who you are as an individual because that’s the first impression you give and people simply judge you on the way you are dressed. Style is a reflection of your inner personality or attitude. Clothing doesn’t only influence our behaviour and mood but it is also a confidence booster.

Is looking good important, if yes why?
Looking good is definitely important. To start with, when you look good you instantly feel good and nothing beats that! The unexpected respect I’ve been given for just looking good has led me to start believing that people can think highly of you just based on your appearance and find it easy to communicate. First impressions are everything, so looking good is a must.

Can you describe your fashion style?
I like to try all variety of clothes. I wear basics which are versatile and comfortable, and of course stylish, which can be worn on a daily basis. For footwear I choose sneakers.

As we are leaving the summer season, what tips can you give for dressing up for the next season?
Winter is such an amazing season especially for fashion oriented people because you get to show off all your clothes in one outfit, keeping warm takes priority. One item that one must have is a turtle neck, there’s absolutely no way you’re getting through winter without one and play around with the colours. We can’t ignore the casual lazy days, I mean a good baggy hoodie does the trick; you wouldn’t go wrong with those.

Where do you get inspiration, when putting together an outfit?
My mood that day lays out my outfit, if I feel a bit down I go for darker colours, and when I’m feeling bold and happy I go for more brighter colours. I must also mention awesome blogs on Instagram, one blogger who I find interesting and does inspire my outfits is mihlalii_n, who is a young black woman who can combine clothing and make the whole outfit look like a million bucks.

Do you need a lot of money to look good?
Personally, I don’t think you need a lot of money to look good. Looking good isn’t about the price tag. It’s about your fashion sense, your taste in clothing, your ability to combine random items and come out with a beautiful look just with affordable clothes (creativity skills).

What are your future plans in life and how are you planning to achieve them?
My future plan is to become an independent businesswoman and I plan to do that by first completing a course in business administration and entrepreneur.

Items you can’t live without:
* Phone
*   Lipstick
*  Bible
*  Glasses
*  Hand lotion.
