BABES CAUSES SAKHILE, 80 SCRIPT CLASH
MBABANE - Has the video of South African gqom queen Babes Wodumo being thrashed opened a can of worms for local entertainers?
This question remains unanswered as Swazi Jive Founder and Director Sakhile Nkambule has denied the slanderous statement allegedly made an account under the name of rapper Zolile ‘80 Script’ Motsa on Twitter against him.
The social media brawl between the two Eswatini entertainers began after a statement under Nkambule’s handle/account on Twitter was made that Swazi Jive will not be supporting or rather booking Mampintsha. Nkambule’s tweet was a reaction from gqom musician Babes Wodumo’s alleged assault by Mampintsha, which rocked social media pages on Monday morning. The assault was recorded and it trended on many social media platforms including twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
An account which uses the name 80 Script, posted a retweet on the ‘disclaimer’ post where the user attacked Nkambule who has since publicly denied the allegations.
This publication can confirm that Nkambule has forwarded the allegations to his lawyers with the intention of taking the ‘yaya’ hit maker to court.
“The statement should be treated with the contempt fitting,” read the statement which was posted on Nkambule’s social media pages which he claims was from his lawyers.
Nkambule confirmed with this publication that he was now tackling the issue with his lawyers and could not comment any further on the issue.
When reached for comment, 80 Script could neither confirm nor deny ownership of the Twitter account.
Instead, he sent a WhatsApp audio explaining that he was not available for a telephonic interview as he was dealing with the issue at hand.
Belonging
On the Twitter account purported to be belonging to the rapper, a statement was posted where the user said, “I said what I said, I will be waiting for the subpoena then we can talk about this.”
It is worth noting that when all these allegations surfaced on social media, it sparked a lot of debate among locals who until now are debating among themselves on the veracity of the matter. Being involved in a beef on social platforms is not new with the rapper three months ago; he was at loggerheads with rapper Sifiso ‘Illa Penboy’ Ndlangamandla for E500 that he allegedly owed him, which was eventually paid.
