EX-ACASWA MEMBERS JOIN SPORTS
MBABANE – Two of the longest serving members of the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA), Terence Matse and Mhlonishwa Motsa have landed new posts in a local Premier League soccer team.
Moneni Pirates have announced the gospel music followers as members of their new marketing committee.
Matse was unveiled together with former ACASWA President Mhlonishwa Motsa, who assumed the duties of Secretary at the football club.
Secretary
The team’s Marketing Committee consists of Buhle Simelane, who is the Chairman; former ACASWA President now Moneni Pirates Committee’s Secretary Mhlonishwa Motsa; Londiwe Jiyane who is the Coordinator; Bongiwe Sithole who is the Treasurer; and Terence Matse.
The five member committee was announced by Moneni Pirates Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thami Dlamini.
Dlamini said there were targets put in place for the committee and they have been given three years to hold office.
He said Moneni Pirates was a big, known and respected brand and in the past years it had not been given much attention as it deserved and now it was time they brought all stakeholders and structures into action.
Served
On the other hand, Matse has served two terms for the Association of Christian Artists of Eswatini (ACASWA) and he is also a member of the recently set up interim committee where the previous ACASWA executive committee was being investigated for misconduct and misappropriation of funds.
The committee tabled its report two weeks back and they are currently working on submitting final resolutions that would see the association being revived.
Contribution
To prove his contribution in the gospel music industry, he was suggested to be the next ACASWA president on a fake list of the possible next executive committee to be elected to office.
“I am excited about this. It is an honour to see people appreciating my qualities and I am dedicated to work tirelessly for the team,” he said briefly.
ACASWA Acting President Dumisani ‘PD’ Manana described Matse as a humble and dedicated man.
Working
He said he also noted Matse’s qualities while they were working together in putting together the report that was tabled before gospel artists.
The committee had been given three months.
“We congratulate him and Motsa for their new responsibilities.
“They are assets to us, because they come with experience and are always willing to serve the membership,” he said.
Siphofaneni MP Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane said Matse was now enjoying the fruit of the seed he planted a long time ago.
Simelane said Matse had been working hard for the past years and his hard work had been finally recognised.
