BUHLE BUYEZA PLAY A MARVEL
MBABANE - Art captured history.
The play titled ‘Buhle Buyeza’ took an educational leap by summarising Eswatini culture, giving a stellar performance that left the audience with goose bumps at the Eswatini Theatre Club. Excitement and anticipation was shown by the audience as they waited for the play to start. Before the event kicked off, the room proved to be a full house as all the seating spaces that were made available were occupied. The event was graced by all age groups, young and old.
The play featured all the best artists the country has, the likes of Qibho Intalektual who played the character of King Somhlolo, wordsmith Dzelisile Mdluli, Thembinkosi Mthethwa, Setsabile Masina, television personality Savior Makama and Mpendulo hlophe to name a few. Thembinkosi Mthethwa, who played King Zwide from the Zulu clan, was one of the crowd’s favourites, with his striking personality one could feel his presence on stage.
Ancient
All the acts really gave fun lovers their money’s worth, as they were taken back to the ancient days. During an interview with some of the people who attended, they said they had a great time and were happy to learn about the emaSwati culture. “The show was just amazing and very educational, I loved it,” said Silindile Hlatshwayo. Oratile Mbuyisa applauded the producer and the whole crew for compiling one of the most treasurable events for the future generation. “This was really a great initiative that will help the upcoming generation to learn more about our clan and what we truly stand for, which is peace,” he said. One of the youngest that was part of the show, Siphelele Dube, also attested to having a good time as he learnt one of the important aspects of life, which is respect.
