MBABANE – Dilly-dally is definitely not the word to use when describing the local jazz music industry.

This has been proven by the rise of Into Music Society, who have brought internationally renowned jazz music artists and this time around, they are bringing a United States of America band known as the Jeff ‘Siege’ Siegel Sextet.

Slated for the Jazz Gallery at the Eswatini Theatre Club in Mbabane, the show is set for June 27 and it will feature internationally renowned South African jazz music artist Feya Faku.

The show is being hosted under the band’s project titled ‘A Musical Celebration of National Day and Concert/Workshop’. The band will also be launching songs from their new album titled ‘King of Xhosa’.

The Jeff ‘Siege’ Siegel Sextet is a multi-cultural group comprised of both men and women from the United States of America and South Africa.

During their show, the group will present a two-hour afternoon workshop focusing on Jazz Improvisation at the Jazz Gallery, followed by an evening concert at the same venue.

Into music Society’s Nelisa Lawton confirmed the show, stating that they were elevating the conception and inception of jazz music in the country.
“The day music and education will inevitably both inspire and educate people from any culture or age group,” said Lawton.

She also said the aim of the musical day was to bring people together in a positive and uplifting way to experience and share in the universal language of music.

“The presence of this renowned jazz band is also to showcase the ways that people of different countries, backgrounds and sexes can work together harmoniously, respectfully and in a democratic way to help promote peace and mutual understanding.

“We also seek to create a better understand of what goes into improvisation in order to better approach jazz music as well as other genres,” she said.
