MBABANE - Unveiled! After weeks of battling it out to make it as MC of one of the most internationally renowned festivals in the world, Eswatini beauty Phiwokuhle ‘Phiwo’ Dhlamini has secured her spot as the co-host.

This was revealed yesterday and ‘Phiwo’ will be joining musician Khonza ‘Anakhonza’ Kunene as the co-host on the MTN BUSHFIRE mainstage.
The MTN BUSHFIRE team went on a search to find a female MC with a charming personality and an X-factor.

Tests

Through vigorous screen tests and auditions, among brilliant competing candidates, ‘Phiwo’  came out on top.
‘Phiwo’ said she was excited and honoured to be the new MTN BUSHFIRE MC.
“This is the great platform to work in and I cannot wait for the festival,” said Dhlamini.

Confirmed

House on Fire Communications Officer Wandile Dlamini confirmed this new information, stating that they were excited to welcome her to their team.
“We welcome her to the MTN BUSHFIRE team as she brings her fire,” said Dlamini.
‘Phiwo’ succeeded Sinethemba ‘Phiwo’, who was the host alongside Kunene until last year.

Dhlamini is a proud liSwati who describes herself as eclectic, eccentric and electric.
She attended Sifundzani High School before going to Rhodes University where she pursued a degree in journalism and media studies, specialising in film and television broadcasting.

MTN Bushfire is more than a festival, it’s a living, breathing ecosystem deeply rooted in African soil, yet inclusive and welcoming to guests from all over the world.

Infused

This uniquely African, and yet globally infused festival experience welcomes thousands to an atmosphere of tolerance and passionate commitment to music, the arts and the environment.

Every year, over 29 000 attendees hailing from 60 different countries make the journey from near and far to the peaceful Malkerns Valley of Eswatini for an energising and uplifting weekend that celebrates the music and arts of Africa and beyond.
